Role of State Training Services

  • Market SBATs and work with employers, schools, school regions, registered training organisations and Australian Apprenticeships Centres to support the establishment of suitable school based apprenticeships or traineeships
  • Complete the Employer Questionnaire and Checklist for potential employers of an SBA. For SBTs, this process is conducted by the School Region
  • Undertake a preliminary assessment of the employer's capacity to train
  • Assist the school region in determining the employer's suitability and capacity to train a student where the student has identified that they have particular or additional needs
  • Monitor students' progress in their school based apprenticeships and traineeships in accordance with agreed State wide frameworks
  • Use the SBAT notification process such as the Incident Report to deal with issues, grievances or concerns by the student or employer or refer them where required.
