This course is for students who want to work in the marine industry as an apprentice marine mechanic.

You will learn how to service and repair marine vessels and how to service, repair and diagnose faults in marine engines, transmissions, hydraulic and electrical systems and components.

Marine Craft Construction Certificate

This qualification is for people who wish to become boat builders or shipwright apprentices.  The course will provide the specific industry skills required for the marine craft construction trade area. 


You will acquire skills and knowledge in workplace communication, occupational health and safety, quality procedures and planning, plus a range of specific industry skills in a marine craft construction trade area.

(ICF) denotes an Industry Curriculum Framework Course. An optional HSC exam in these courses is available to contribute to the Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank.

The Board of Studies will add units of competency that are listed in the school-based component of a students training plan which are not currently available in the relevant ICF SBA pathway.

To facilitate this schools are asked to complete the Application for inclusion of additional unit(s) of competency to the SBA pathway of an ICF form.
