Certificate III in Flooring Technology

This course is for apprentices and people wanting to acquire the skills  to work in the flooring technology sector of the furnishing industry.

You will learn how to prepare sub-floors and install carpet, timber and resilient flooring; apply finishes to floors; repair existing flooring; and provide advice to customers.

Certificate III in Cabinet Making (Furniture)

Apprentices will gain knowledge and skills in a broad range of areas relating to furniture making including the use of hand and power tools, selection and application of furniture hardware. furniture construction. timber selection, setting up, operating and maintaining manual and semi-automatic woodworking machinery.

Furnishing - Upholstery Certificate III

Apprentices will gain the skills and knowledge to work in the upholstery sector of the furnishing industry, including how to:
- select fabrics
- apply contemporary and traditional upholstery techniques - - machine sew
- cut and apply fabric and leather
- manufacture loose covers and cushions
- prepare cutting lists, cost and estimate work
- interpret documentation

(ICF) denotes an Industry Curriculum Framework Course. An optional HSC exam in these courses is available to contribute to the Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank.

The Board of Studies will add units of competency that are listed in the school-based component of a students training plan which are not currently available in the relevant ICF SBA pathway.

To facilitate this schools are asked to complete the Application for inclusion of additional unit(s) of competency to the SBA pathway of an ICF form.
